"Ping Pong Domination" by Drew Menning

When I was at my best was when I dominated a Ping Pong tournament. Most of the time when I am at my best is during sports or video games, but mostly whenever the adrenaline kicks in. So I found the sport that is insanely addictive at least for me. So I practiced with my dad for this tournament. My dad was pro, he was pretty good since he grew up playing the game of ping pong with his brother. So I practiced and practiced till I started to get bored.
Then the tournament arrived, and I was all pumped and psyched up. I arrived at the REC Center with 20 or so people all signed up and ready to play. I think to myself "This is going to be a blood bath". Then the chinese couple shows up, they walked in with their cocky stride both in unison ready to start the hurt.
This male and female chinese couple were warming up and showing off their skills, so I just watched and watched waiting for a sign of weakness. But their own "Made in Chinese Paddles" were unbreakable. So with a ding the director started the tournament and the bracket was set and the first match was played. I of course with my amazing luck had a bye. So I could just relax and eye the competitors. Then I was up time to show my game. I was getting ready then the chinese lady gets up and  I get a little uneasy. We start the match and I am on fire I smack the ball and pinpoint the corners like no other. Yes I sent her to the grave. The next match was announced with me playing her husband. Yes that death sentence came back to haunt me.
I was even more nervous playing this chinese dude because, well, he was Chinese! We started playing and I started losing. So I starting getting desperate as the last round was coming up. I was down in the ruts, but I found his weakness that only this guy could have because he was barely 5 foot something with small arms. So yes I'm sure you guessed it his weakness was backspin, if you accomplish this "backspin" he would be put off balance and be set up for a Killshot. So thats what I did I back spinned the hell out of him and then spiked the ball with my Killshot.
After that game my ego was up and I was the best, with confidence of a champ. I then obliterated my next two "American" foes with unmistakeable power. After being crowned king of everyone and victor of all. I basked in the glory of my Ultimate Ping Pong skills. So while I was basking I watched everyone leave with their woeful eyes and painful sorrows. My day was accomplished and one hour of my life was done, but I was at my best and thats what mattered. So in the end I became the camp of 20 some old guys and 2 midget chinese people, my day was done.

  1. that sounds like you had a lot of fun that day. It is really cool that you beat everyone in that tournament even the Chinese people.

  2. Haha. Love the post. It reminded me of The Karate Kid except with ping pong. It could be a Disney channel movie for sure.
